  • Anjuli Hein

    DVM

    Dr. Hein was born and raised on a ranch in Kremmling, a small town in Northwestern Colorado. She graduated from the University of Colorado, Boulder with a degree in Biology and then continued on to receive her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at Colorado State University in 2007. After graduation, she moved to Salida, CO to work in a mixed-animal practice and then joined the ITAH team in 2008. Dr. Hein became a co-owner at Indian Tree in April of 2016. Her professional interests include internal medicine, preventive care, and alternative medicine. Dr. Hein, her husband and 2 amazing children have a dog named Mosley, and enjoy skiing, hiking, mountain biking and horseback riding.

  • Lesley Leach

    DVM

    Dr. Lesley Leach obtained her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Colorado State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2006. In 2010, Dr. Leach joined the Indian Tree Animal Hospital team and today she is a co-owner of the practice.

  • Shelley Ekstrom

    DVM

    Dr. Shelley Ekstrom's career as a veterinarian began in the Texas equine industry after graduating from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2002. Later in her career, she switched focus to small-animal medicine and relocated to Colorado where she now practices at Indian Tree Animal Hospital.

  • Carrie Wang

    DVM

    Dr. Wang grew up in Wyoming and Colorado. She graduated from the University of Colorado with a degree in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology. She then moved to Virginia to attend the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine and graduated in 2012. After graduation, she completed a 1-year internship in emergency, critical care, and specialty medicine at the Regional Veterinary Referral Center in Northern Virginia. She then returned to Colorado and worked for several years as a general practitioner at a specialty veterinary hospital in Denver. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her fiancé, as well as her 2 dogs and 2 cats. She is very excited to join the team at Indian Tree Animal Hospital, and to meet the clients and their furry best friends!

  • Chase Marr

    DVM

    Dr. Chase Marr was born and raised in rural southeast Kansas. He attended Kansas State University and received a B.S. in animal science in 2010. Always being one with a sense of adventure, Dr. Marr set out on an experience of a lifetime and attended veterinary school at Ross University on the Caribbean island of St. Kitts. After nearly three years of island living, he made the trek back to the States and completed his clinical year of veterinary school at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana. As soon as school was completed, Dr. Marr made his life dream of living in Colorado a reality. In his free time, Dr. Marr loves to snow ski and travel as much as possible. He also keeps busy with four dogs of his own.

  • Emily Howard

    DVM

    Dr. Emily Howard graduated from Colorado State University with a bachelor’s degree in Microbiology in 1999. From there, she pursued her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Kansas State University, where she graduated in 2004. Dr. Howard practiced in Kansas City for eight years before returning to Colorado in 2012. Her professional interests include internal medicine and pain management. Dr. Howard lives with her husband, son, and geriatric pit bull in beautiful Arvada, CO. In her spare time, she attempts to keep up with her son’s toddler antics.

  • Celene Joza

    DVM

    Dr. Celene Joza is a Veterinarian at 5280 Veterinary Care and has been in the veterinary industry since 2004. She graduated from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo with a Bachelors in Animal Science, and earned her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from St. George's University, where she also spent her clinical year. Dr. Joza is certified in veterinary medical acupuncture with a strong interest in rehabilitation for physical therapy. Her areas of professional interest include arthritis management, acupuncture, physical therapy, and client education. Dr. Joza loves making a difference in not only animals lives, but owners lives as well. She enjoys strengthening the human and animal bond, and the challenge of helping an animal that can't tell her what is hurting. Dr. Joza grew up in Southern California and moved to Colorado where she lives with her fiance, a plothound named Dodgy, a black lab named Lapis, and a mini rex rabbit named Sadie. When she is not practicing quality veterinary care, Dr. Joza enjoys hiking, skiing, cross-stitching, and exploring restaurants and breweries.

  • Trevor Hendricks

    DVM

    Dr. Trevor Hendricks is an Associate Veterinarian at Indian Tree Animal Hospital. He graduated from St. George’s University, School of Veterinary Medicine - Grenada for his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2018. Dr. Hendricks said he was inspired to become a veterinarian after working on a cow-calf ranch in northeast Oklahoma, and says the best part of working in the veterinary field is helping animals and people. His areas of professional interest include surgery, preventative medicine, pain management, and cardiology. Originally from Tulsa, Oklahoma, Dr. Hendricks moved to Colorado in 2018 and currently lives in Littleton with his wife, Labrador retriever named Lapis, and a Plott hound named Dodgy. His wife, Dr. Celene Joza, is also a Veterinarian at Indian Tree Animal Hospital. In his free time, he enjoys hiking, skiing, watching football, grilling, and checking out local breweries.

  • Sarah Payne

    DVM

    Dr. Sarah Payne graduated from North Carolina State University's College of Veterinary Medicine in May 2022. Before that, she attended Auburn University where she majored in Biology, then spent the summer volunteering with a veterinary program in Thailand. After hanging out with the elephants (and wishing she never had to leave), she moved to Raleigh, North Carolina, and worked as a surgical assistant at a specialty hospital for a year before beginning veterinary school. Sarah's favorite subjects in school were surgery, neurology, and preventative medicine. She decided to move to Denver after graduation because she always wanted to move out West, and it seemed like the perfect mix of a big city with adventure and the mountains nearby! On her off days, she loves to explore the mountains whether it is skiing, rock climbing, or hiking.

  • Riley Farrell

    DVM

    Dr. Riley Farrell grew up in Southern California. She graduated from the University of California Davis with a degree in Animal Science in 2017. Dr. Farrell continued her education at UC Davis where she received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) in 2021. After graduation, Dr. Farrell worked in San Francisco as an emergency doctor and general practitioner. Wanting to be closer to family and friends, she decided Colorado was her next destination. Dr. Farrell’s clinical interests include feline medicine, preventative medicine, access to care, and the chronic management of the disease. In her free time, Dr. Farrell enjoys all forms of exercise ranging from yoga, hiking, and re-learning how to ski. She enjoys cozy days at home testing new recipes, reading, knitting, and cuddling with her two cats, Misty and Eugene. Dr. Farrell is excited to join the team at Indian Tree Animal Hospital and help serve her community and their furry companions.
